The mill of Jean-Marie Cornille (makers of our very popular Maussale Les Alpilles olive oil) released this new olive oil this year– the Cuvee Traditionnelle Fruite Noir oil. This is made using the same olive variety, and pressed in the same mill, but since the olives are just 30 miles outside the AOC (origin-protected) region, it does not bear the AOC label, so it is a little less expensive. After tasting this oil, it is clear that it is slightly milder, but just as good as the AOC in quality. It comes in a tall black glass bottle in 750 mL bottle that is as stunning as its aroma.
This oil is from the 2007 / 2008 harvest.
